I had a chance to slip away and do a short float trip with my neighbor Josh on April 24th.  Josh struck first with his 1st smallmouth for the 2016 season!  All up all in we landed and released over 20 fat rock bass and a few smallmouth.  Both of us had long distance releases on a couple of nice smallies; we'll be back hunting for them soon!  I was happy to be back on the oars!

Austin on the sticks on the Kanakee RiverJust published our most recent article – Sometimes, You Can Go Home. This one is about a float I recently did down the wide Kankakee River with Austin Adduci of Grab Your Fly Charters. It was a beautiful spring day and a great day to out on some old familiar water. The Kankakee is not too far from central Indiana and well worth the drive up and back (except all the windmills on I65) for a great day of fishing. Nice Kankakee Smallmouth BassAustin did a fantastic job guiding us. It was/is very obvious he know the Kankakee River and enjoys fishing it. Read the article and then book at trip with Grab Your Fly Charters. You'll have a trip that will burn in your memory for many years to come!

Once we get on a roll it seems things just pour out of Warmwater Chronicles. We already had an article on the Resources at Rio and now Cecil has his article published on Mike Exl.

Mike did a presentation at the Indianapolis Fly Casters this past February on Carp fishing. Needless to say, all were very impressed and enjoyed spending the evening with Mike and learning about this ever popular fly fishing target.

You can read Cecil's article under the article section or…. just click here.

To Barb, or Not to Barb?It is part of our mission to bring new information to those who follow us on a regular basis. Fortunately, there are many ways we can deliver NEW information. However, sometimes there is nothing like the old fashioned written word to really convey some meaning.

This month, I have written a article on a subject that comes up regularly in my fly tying classes; barbed versus debarbed hooks. It can be a hot topic and I have gotten into more than a few heated debates with people that felt my views are wrong. But that is what makes life interesting. So, head on over to the Articles section and take a gander at "To Barb, or Not to Barb?". Feel free to let me know what you think; good and bad. Then I can get in more heated debates!
