Jr. was recently featured in the Fly Pattern Spotlight on the Southern Kayak Kronicles Blog! Our friend Joe Mahler hooked Steve up with the pattern and tying directions; looks like a winner to us!!!

Jr. has been hard at work with some new frog patterns; these will absolutely slay bass! The heads are being made by Ian at Flymasters, Jr. finished with a copic airbrush, weedguard and legs! The photography was done by Ian, he has a great set up for taking macro photos!

WWC is BACK!

Greetings Warm Water Chronicles readers!

We apologize for the lapse of content; someone lost the keys to the website and it took awhile to get a new set of keys cut. Anyway, the new keys were delivered and we'll be back to posting soon, really, really soon!

There haven't been a lot of changes at WWC; but there have been a few. While the new keys were being cut, someone left the door unlocked and let a new person in. This new person will be helping with posting and updating. Just a reminder to our loyal followers, always double check that the door IS locked!

We did appear at The Great American Fly Fishing Expo held during the Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show. Our next appearance will be with the 3 Rivers/Fort Wayne Fly Fishing show beginning on April 2nd, 2016. Come and see us tie!

Below is just a sample of what was being tied at the Expo a couple of weeks ago. This is just a small sample of the fly's that were coming off the vises of Jr. and Cecil!

New Flies From Jr.

Not only is fishing for bass and panfish one of the finest ways to fly fish but coming up with new flies makes the experience complete. We all have tried and true flies that we love to fish and consistently produce fish. However, when we know we have an ace in our back pocket we just have to try something new. It is this drive that gets our cognitive wheels turning. We sit down at the tying vise come up with a pattern and then hit the water with it. We see what worked or didn't and refine the pattern. Eventually, we tweak the pattern to where it becomes one of our "tried and true" patterns. Then we start all over again.

Jr. has to be one of the most prolific fly tiers I know. He is always coming up with something new and likes to focus on warmwater flies. He has two new patterns that he is having lots of fun fishing this summer; The Pill Popper and The Micro-Mini Frog. I will be heading out this Friday with Jr. to fish some of these flies and will have more photos of these flies in action. I might even scrape out some time for some video of the action of these flies. Regardless of how we do this Friday, we have plans to record these flies in the next week and will soon have some tying videos for everyone.

More Indiana Topwater Action

This time both Jr. and Cecil hit the water for some topwater action. Heading out to one of Jr.s favorite spots, early in the morning, the action started long before the sun was up with some topwater Crappie. This was caught on one of Jr.s [in development] floating frog patterns. As the sun came up and all through the morning hours they ended up boating over 40 bass as well as Crappie and bluegill. All on topwater. Now that is great Indiana summer fishing.

Jr.’s Bent Slider Video

As promised… I have finished processing the raw video Jr. and I shot a week ago on tying his Bent Slider. I removed all the really RAW parts and pasted it back together into something that looks like we know what we are doing. This was actually a fun video to work on as the fly is so simple and Jr. does such a great job of demonstrating it.

Sit back and relax and enjoy our latest video effort. Then head over to Cabela's to order some of these floating Jig bodies and tie up some Bent Sliders for your water this summer.
