Jr. has been hard at work with some new frog patterns; these will absolutely slay bass! The heads are being made by Ian at Flymasters, Jr. finished with a copic airbrush, weedguard and legs! The photography was done by Ian, he has a great set up for taking macro photos!

WWC is BACK!

Greetings Warm Water Chronicles readers!

We apologize for the lapse of content; someone lost the keys to the website and it took awhile to get a new set of keys cut. Anyway, the new keys were delivered and we'll be back to posting soon, really, really soon!

There haven't been a lot of changes at WWC; but there have been a few. While the new keys were being cut, someone left the door unlocked and let a new person in. This new person will be helping with posting and updating. Just a reminder to our loyal followers, always double check that the door IS locked!

We did appear at The Great American Fly Fishing Expo held during the Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show. Our next appearance will be with the 3 Rivers/Fort Wayne Fly Fishing show beginning on April 2nd, 2016. Come and see us tie!

Below is just a sample of what was being tied at the Expo a couple of weeks ago. This is just a small sample of the fly's that were coming off the vises of Jr. and Cecil!

Pat Cohen is no stranger to WWC. I did a review on his tying DVD this past winter. If you haven't checked out some of the things he does with deer hair now is a great time too.

TimesUnion.com did a nice photo essay on Pat's flies, tying and fishing. Truly a gifted tier and innovator. These photos show some very creative flies and amazing skills.

We have two Warmwater Stalkings this week. Actually, the first one was sent in a few weeks back but somewhere in the chaos that is our summer it was overlooked. Justin, forgive us old guys that are loosing grey matter each day (even without alcohol). Justin likes to hunt Musky and our sticker looks right at home on his fly box next to his Big A– flies.

Friends, Photography and Connections

One of the coolest aspects of running a website such as this is the connections you make with people. Obviously, we hope to reach people who have a common interest; warmwater fly fishing. However, sometimes connections are made via other avenues.

As Warmwater Chronicles develops you will find one of our major interests is photography. Video as well but photography can sometimes capture something that is lost in video. A perspective on a moment in time, if you will, that is often overlooked. Photography is something I have been developing for a while with the help of some great friends like Kevin Morlock, Steve Martinez, Matt Dunn, Gregg Stump, Scott Heeg [the hand model] and Dave Hostler to name a few. Over time we have helped each other learn all sorts of aspects of the craft and have become good friends.

Recently, a new connection was made through fishing and unbeknownst to Jake, photography as well. Jake Hawkins learned of our site and send us an email requesting a sticker. He also sent along a photo of some recent success fishing and a link to his site, Jake Hawkins Wild Images (jakehawkinswildimages.com). In sending out a sticker for Jake I headed over to his site and spent the better part of the next 30 minutes looking at all of his photos. Wow is all I can say. Insects, flowers, landscapes, fish, mammals and just about anything that gets in front of a lens. I am inspired with new ideas for some shots just in the backyard let alone when I am on the water or vacation this summer.

Grab some coffee and treat yourself to some great eye candy [on the cleaner side of the Internet]. Now that we have a new connection, we'll keep you posted on Jake's success behind the lens and on the water. Thanks for sharing.
