My wife and I own a fly shop in Wisconsin. We talk and fish for trout 7 days a week when we are in the store or guiding on the spring creeks. On our days off we fish for bass, pike, panfish, gar, dogfish etc on the Mississippi and the local reservoirs!

I would love a WWC sticker for our john boat and if I can be greedy and ask for two, one for my tying cave.

Hey fella’s, well its about time someone started a warm water only blog!! I read Kevin’s blog posting and would dig seeing magazine from you guys. I’m over here in Western Illinois but frequent the carp flats on Lake Michigan at the Dunes State Park and fish the St. Joe from time to time for smallies.

Need me a couple stickers for my kayaks to spread the word. That musky inhaling the trout will irritate the sh** out of a couple of my fellow club members.

Just wanted to drop a line and thank you for the website.  I am a newbie to the fly rod (probably never heard that before, I know) and your website has been valuable.  It is nice to see 'warmwater' only info because i live in south Georgia and lets face it.  Everything is WARM down here.  I have never even placed hands on a trout.  I am an experienced angler, but the fly is a whole new world to me.

Wow….that was a lot of rambling for me to request a WWC sticker. Anyway, I will be watching the sit…

Sometimes, You Can Go Home

The old adage is that you can never go home. In most cases I would agree to this. Actually, in this case I would still agree but my recent trip to fish the Kankakee with Jim Daugherty (an old friend) and Austin Adduci (of Grab Your Fly Charters) was in many ways… like going home. First, I have to let you know I grew up in Kankakee. I wasn’t born there but my family moved there in ’67 when I was just four years old.

Spotlight: Mike Exl

This past February the Indianapolis Fly Casters had Mike Exl of Wildcat Creek Outfitters present a program about Carp fishing in and around our own local waters. It was our meeting of the month and I had a window and was able to attend for a change. It peeked my interest since I have not really made an attempt at this species which has grown ever so popular in recent years. Mike gave a great program, especially ...

Resources at RIO

The one common thread amongst all fly fisherman and women I have ever met is that we all have an insatiable appetite for more knowledge about fly fishing (and fish). I’m not even mentioning fly tying here because that is a whole other beast. But even if the knowledge learned is a revelation or simply a small tip ...
