I headed out to Eagle Creek Friday evening with some friends to see how the White Bass run was shaping up. The reports I have received are that the run has not really happened yet. People have been getting fish here and there but nothing like the usual. However, this spring has been anything but usual and it may be that the White Bass run never really develops.
Our results were about the same as what we have been hearing, inconsistent. Rex bagged about seven or eight, Scott got three or four, and Jack and I a big fat zippo. However, Scott did manage to bring in the Granddaddy of all Rockbass and I caught two very nice (13 – 14 inchish) smallies. Go figure, I go White Bass fishing and catch smallmouth. Should have gone smallmouth fishing.
